Please Volunteer Often
We are asking every volunteer to commit to at least 1 shift per month in order to remain on the official volunteer list and receive Swap Shop email updates.
Liability Waivers
New for 2023 is that the town requires ALL volunteers to sign a liability waiver to keep on file.
Copies will be available at the Swap Shop to complete & sign or you may download the form and bring it with you.
Children Volunteers? Sorry, No.
The question was asked last year if minor children could volunteer at the Swap Shop (either with or without a parent working the same shift). After much research and many conversations, it was determined that volunteers must be 18 or older. We are always on the hunt for new active volunteers and our town’s youth seems like a great resource, but for liability reasons, the town legal counsel says NO.
If you have friends, neighbors or family who are Durham residents and want more information about volunteering, please let us know and we will contact them to answer any questions. As always, we are very grateful to the dedicated volunteers who repeatedly contribute their time, efforts and goodwill to the Durham Swap Shop. We look forward to seeing you all!
If you have any questions or concerns, please email durhamnhswapshop@gmail.com or contact a coordinator directly.
